Delicate scrolling wirework, floral details, carved foliate ornament and a small pendant finial lend the elongated silhouette a wonderful lightness—the decoration is refined rather than heavy.

At 36 inches high and only 16.25 inches wide, the mirror has particularly useful proportions for those narrow spaces where a more conventional mirror can feel cumbersome. It would be handsome above a petite console in an entry, between sconces in a powder room, or incorporated into a layered bedroom or sitting room. The aged gilt surface keeps it firmly in the realm of an old, collected interior rather than formal reproduction decorating.
