Green foliage and intricate geometric wirework enrich the design, while warm brass edging frames its rounded rectangular form. The floral decoration continues across the removable lid, with blue enamel inside.

Cloisonné requires painstaking handwork. Fine metal wires are shaped into individual compartments, outlining each flower, leaf, and background detail. These cells are carefully filled with powdered glass enamel mixed into a paste. Repeated kiln firings, additional filling, and final polishing produce the colorful surface—a remarkable amount of patient craftsmanship within such a small object.

A charming decorative accent for a desk, bookshelf, or dressing table, suitable for holding small keepsakes.
