A handsome and unusually substantial antique wrought iron fireplace trivet or kettle stand, featuring traditional hand-worked construction and wonderful aged character.
The rectangular openwork top incorporates broad iron slats with a decorative shaped center element and loop handles on both sides. The stand rests on elegant curved front legs terminating in rounded ball feet, while a lower iron rack adds stability and provides additional visual interest.
Originally designed for hearthside use to support a kettle, pot, or cooking vessel above the heat, this piece is equally attractive today as a decorative fireplace accessory, low plant stand, hearth stand, or architectural accent.
