This exceptional Chinese Art Deco piece captures the dramatic flair and luxurious material quality of the period. Its generous dimensions classify it as a room Size carpet, perfectly suited for defining a major living space with unparalleled color and texture.

The design is characterized by a breathtaking contrast between the rich, saturated red field and the shimmering border. The vibrant palette, particularly the deep hue of the field, elevates this beyond a standard red rug into a statement piece of textile art, showcasing the bold color choices favored by 1920s designers.

A sophisticated, asymmetrical arrangement of flowering vines and blossoms cascades inward from the border, softening the geometric severity typical of the Art Deco style. These stylized floral motifs are beautifully suspended against the deep, velvety wool pile, emphasizing the depth and luster of the weave.

Woven during a pivotal era of cross-cultural design, this rug exemplifies the highest quality of Chinese weaving intended for the Western market. As a remarkable example among antique rugs, its superb condition and singular aesthetic make it a highly desirable acquisition for discerning collectors seeking historical elegance and visual impact.
