Depiction of an adolescent boy possibly lost in thought in the woods. The detail is incredible. The boys skin, t-shirt and blanket showing wrinkles, shadows and depth. The background trees look water color-esque creating a foggy, mysterious atmosphere. The creator was clearly highly skilled portraiture artist. Egg tempera is a meticulous, historical medium favored by notable American Realists like Andrew Wyeth, whose iconic grass and field landscapes share a strong stylistic harmony with this composition. Purchased at the South Florida estate of deceased artist, Valeria Mariscal. See less
