The architectural, faceted form is composed of a central mirror plate surrounded by angled mirrored panels, creating wonderful depth and reflecting light from multiple directions.

The finely worked brass frame features an abundance of scrolling foliate motifs and pierced ornamentation characteristic of the exuberant decorative vocabulary of the Napoleon III period. An elaborate shaped crest crowns the mirror, further emphasizing its dramatic silhouette and exceptional craftsmanship.
