Springer is embossed in red lettering. This is the most expensive and luxurious piece I have ever offered on my sight. I bought it from a dealer in Las Vegas. The middle insets are removable to reveal the game part of the table. The mottled beige alligator skin textured leather is attributed to Hermes, making the table an even more valuable and potentially worth more than the asking price. The Springer craftmanship, clean lines and luxurious materials have a high quality staying power. This piece reflects his uniquely maximalists design esthetics, and could even be considered a museum piece. As the demand for vintage luxury pieces continue to rise, this stand alone find is invaluable. It not only serves as a symbol of luxury and refinement but also as a tangible investment, in functional pieces of art. Though I travel to many areas in the states, I live in Boise Idaho, after a 40 year stint where I owned or managed various shops and showrooms in West Hollywood California. Few furniture craftsmen of high caliber skills are limited to me. If available at all, any of the Springer backgammon game tables do not have the faux mottled alligator design, which is another reason to own this fabulous piece. This table did not come with any of the the back game accoutrement. I will leave it to the buyer, if they choose to clean, enhance or refine the table in any way. Any blemish can be seen in photos.
