Features a three-dimensional sleeping pig … Read more Portuguese Pottery Majolica Pig Pâté Tureen, Covered Casserole in the Style of Secla- Circa 1950. Features a three-dimensional sleeping pig figurine on the lid resting atop an oval, warm brown glazed earthenware or majolica ceramic base. Likely originating from mid-century Portuguese pottery workshops such as Secla. Secla Portugal was an artistic pottery workshop established in Caldas da Rainha in 1947. Secla employeed such artists as Julio Pomar, José Aurélio Hansi Stael, António Quadros, Ian Hird and Ferreira da Silva.
