Measuring a square yard and 20 inches high, it is scaled for children’s (or grandchildren’s) play and projects without requiring a lot of space.

DESIGN: The definitive feature of this set is how the chairs tuck completely underneath the table frame. When fully stowed, the chair backs perfectly align with the serpentine curves of the tabletop, converting the entire footprint into a neat, self-contained side table. Underneath the main top rests a floating square shelf. This acts as a secondary storage deck to clear away playthings, tiny teacups, books, puzzles or games when the main surface needed to be cleared for the next activity.

FUNCTION: To allow four separate chairs to slide completely under a single small square table without their legs bumping into one another, each chair was cleverly engineered with a triangular seat and only three legs. Notice how each chair has two standard cabriole legs (keeping to the French style) at the back corners, but the single front leg features a brass roller caster. This allows a person (that's you, Granddad) sitting down to easily slide the chair forward and backward into the tight under-table space.

MATERIALS: The entire set is constructed from prime Quartersawn White Oak. The front legs terminate in original stamped brass collar casters with small wheels.
