I first learned of D. R. Dimes furniture a few years ago. It surprised me at how prized these Windsor chairs were by some aficionados, but I have to admit that the quality of construction is remarkable. The chair that I'm offering for sale was made in 1991 according to the label on the underside of the seat (refer to picture 16). It has the D. R. Dimes name stamp above this label. As a vintage chair, there are a few condition issues that I need to point out. There is a small chip on the front edge of the seat (refer to picture 11). The paint is original and has craquelure in the surface (refer to picture 15). There are also areas where the paint has worn off, exposing the wood underneath (refer to pictures 8, 9 and 14). The chair is still structurally very sound without any weak joints. The paint is actually a dark green and not black as it may appear to be in these pictures.
I photographed this chair outside on a sunny afternoon in August. It will invariably look different when viewed in an interior setting under artificial light. Please take this into consideration when matching colors.
