Bev Doolittle (1947-2024) is one of America’s most collected artists. She was born and raised in California. Her art started to blossom during her travels throughout the west with her husband. Her distinctive use of design and pattern that lets viewers discover hidden meanings is often called “camouflage art”.
The first lithograph shows us a Blackfoot Indian in full dress adorned with the feathers, claws and pelts of his animal protectors. The second lithograph shows us the moment he is aware of danger and his face turns towards us and surrounding him we can see the eighteen spirit animals watching over him.
The lithographs are framed together in a wooden frame with gorgeous matting and a brass identification plate.
