A handsome assembled collection of three vintage French silver-plated serving platters, combining three distinct geometric forms with a wonderfully cohesive look.

The smallest platter has a nearly square outline with subtly clipped corners; the second features an elegant elongated geometric form; and the generously scaled third platter offers a broad square silhouette with softly articulated edges.

Their restrained decoration relies on clean lines, broad polished borders, and the reflective quality of silver plate rather than elaborate ornament, giving the group a timeless appearance that works beautifully on both traditional and contemporary tables.

Originally intended for serving meat, fish, vegetables, pastries, or hors d'oeuvres, the three different sizes remain wonderfully versatile today.

This is an assembled set, and the platters were made by different manufacturers. Various period marks appear on the undersides:

the small square platter bears several partially legible punches and numerals;
the elongated platter is marked “18 G,” referring to its silver plating;
the large square platter bears “B.B” and “MAILLECHORT” marks.

Maillechort is the French term for the nickel-alloy base traditionally used beneath silver plating.

The pieces differ noticeably in weight and construction, ranging from the relatively light elongated platter to the substantially heavier large square example.

Good overall vintage condition with numerous fine surface scratches and serving marks, patina, and localized wear to the silver plating consistent with age and use. Please refer to the detailed photographs.
