Matched pair of Edwardian-style slatted mahogany jardinieres (plant stands / wine coolers). Brimming with classic English country charm, each piece features a striking, multi-toned ribbed wood barrel body accented by delicate light wood stringing along the elegantly curved tripod legs.
The stands feature a lower triangular undertier detailed with a beautiful, centered starburst marquetry inlay that serves as both a structural stabilizer and a stunning visual anchor. Adorning the sides of the barrels are classic brass lion-mask handles fitted with decorative draped chains.
Each piece comes complete with its removable, heavy-duty brass interior liner. Historically used to hold ice for cooling wine or to catch water from prize houseplants, these versatile stands make a sophisticated statement today when placed on either side of a fireplace, flanking an entryway, or anchoring a formal dining room.
