We are offering this very red and very pretty box. We believe this box to be French, but could be English, it has red lacquered surface with gilt decoration in the Chinese Chinoiserie style. The box has a pincushion on the top and was most likely used as a sewing box. Probably 1st half of 19th century done in Louis XV taste.
Condition: Wear to gilding and lacquer with losses. Some old splits. Loose Hinge. Insect damages. Really pretty still though.
