This antique table from … Read more An English Jacobean style oak console table from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique table from England features a rectangular plank top with a continuous band of turned bead molding running beneath it along the front case which houses three generously proportioned drawers, each deeply molded with bold geometric paneling, fitted with brass bail pulls, and flanked by decorative spindle-form appliqués down the front side posts. The shaped apron, adds refinement and visual rhythm across the front façade, with sides soften with arches cut out along the skirt. The table is raised on turned front legs terminating in simple bun feet, with simple, square legs at rear. Stretcher supports along the sides, just above the feet, provide additional structural stability. The custom finish creates a deep, warm espresso-brown coloration with a subtle wash of black that highlights the grain and natural wear, and a contrasting light-grey trim frames the top edge and various trim. This late 18th century English console, stretching just over six feet in width, makes a striking statement in a home, offering generous surface space and storage potential.
