The long upper back rail is straight with a concave “bite” out of each end and with the lower back rail and three stiles frames two long flat panels which constitute the back of the piece. The integral arms and legs are square with a bold scroll at the top and they frame another panel, flat on the inside and raised on the outside. The front and back of the storage “box” are through tenoned into the legs for strength and stability. The bench is hand-polished to a warm glow and has mostly very small knots. This is an outstanding piece for a basement or games room, reception, family room or commercial use. See less
