The carved face is dense with figures across its full height: standing guardian figures with raised arms and staffs, a larger ancestral guardian figure with arms raised, a bull or cattle figure with prominent horns, and a large sunburst or radiating circular motif, interspersed with geometric lattice, stepped, and basket-weave fill patterns. Human figural carving shows up twice in this session's Nupe doors now, here and on door #64, worth noting since this tradition otherwise leans heavily toward animal and geometric imagery. The patina is a deep, weathered brown consistent with genuine age and long handling. At 42 inches wide and 90 inches tall, nearly 7.5 feet, this is a true architectural-scale piece, suited to a great room, a stairwell wall, or any space with the ceiling height to let it run floor to near-ceiling.
