This is a set of antique Chinese porcelain condiment set featuring small square lidded pots and 4 matching mother-of-pearl spoons.
The pots display a classic turquoise ground decorated with enameled floral scrolls. The central feature of this design is the four-character auspicious phrase "Wan Shou Wu Jiang" (萬壽無疆)
Reading the characters on the pots from right to left:
萬 (Wàn): Ten thousand / countless
壽 (Shòu): Longevity / long life
無 (Wú): Without
疆 (Jiāng): Boundary or limit
Together, the phrase translates to "Boundless Longevity" or "May you live for ten thousand years without limit." Historically, during Imperial China, this phrase and specific pattern were exclusively reserved for the birthdays of emperors and empresses.
Sets like these are traditionally used on the dining table as salt cellars or spice/condiment pots to hold individual seasonings like chili paste, soy sauce, sugar, or mustard.
