A handsome pair of antique cast iron garden urns of classical form, each with a deeply fluted, oval bowl and dramatically scalloped, undulating rim. The bowls are raised on matching fluted pedestal bases with molded foliate decoration.
The heavy cast iron retains a wonderful dark, naturally weathered surface, with areas of oxidation and rust consistent with age and outdoor use. The undersides show the rough cast construction and drainage/openings associated with functional garden pieces.
Their relatively low, broad proportions make these particularly appealing for use as tabletop planters, architectural ornaments, mantel decorations or small garden urns.
