A freestanding brass bonsai tree sculpture by artist Bijan, hand-cast and torch-cut in the Brutalist style popular in the 1980s. The tree rises from a rectangular marble base, its wind-swept canopy formed from layered, textured brass leaves on branching limbs. Beneath the tree, a resting doe with three fawns and a smooth boulder complete the scene. Signed on an engraved copper tag inset into the marble base.
A great example of 1980s Brutalist / Mid-Century Modern brass sculpture, well suited to a console, sideboard, or mantel.
