Here is a charming vintage Portuguese majolica serving platter, dating to approximately the 1970s. Molded in the form of a freshly gathered bundle of asparagus, the platter features creamy yellow-green stalks with wonderfully textured surfaces, painterly green tips, and a raised dark green ribbon tied neatly around the center.
At 12.5 inches long, it is a great size for serving asparagus, vegetables, appetizers, or crudités, but I think it would be just as fantastic displayed in a kitchen or mixed into a collection of vintage majolica.
The underside is impressed “Made in Portugal.” The maker is unknown.
