Sandie was an American folk artist known for her whimsical mixed media art dolls as well as other distinctive pieces She was influenced by Native American, African, and contemporary art traditions. Her artwork appeared in numerous solo and group exhibitions and was represented by over 100 galleries throughout the US, Europe and Japan. Sandie's artwork is held in many private collections. This wonderful and unique jester doll figure is comprised of a hand painted ceramic face, hands and feet ,surrounded by layered fabric and suede clothing over a soft, but firm, stuffed fabric body and embellished with woven thread, beads and a wooden horse.
