A wonderfully decorative **13-piece set of vintage Johnson Brothers “Provincial” English ironstone bowls**, featuring the pattern’s distinctive combination of cobalt blue latticework, stylized foliate borders and colorful floral sprays in red, blue and green.
Each bowl has a gently **scalloped rim** outlined with alternating blue lattice and foliate motifs, surrounding a central bouquet with a charming hand-painted appearance. The slightly irregular floral decoration and traditional palette give the set the character of much earlier English and Continental country pottery while retaining the durability for which Johnson Brothers ironstone became known.
The graduated collection is particularly appealing and versatile, comprising **four 5.25-inch bowls, eight 6.25-inch bowls and one large 8.25-inch serving bowl**. Use the smaller bowls for dessert, fruit or condiments, the larger group for soup, salad or pasta, and the largest as a coordinating serving bowl. The three sizes also look fantastic stacked together for open-shelf or hutch display.
Marked on the underside **“Johnson Brothers / Made in England / Provincial / Genuine Hand Engraving / Acid Resisting and Dishwasher Safe / Ironstone.”**
A quintessentially English pattern with a relaxed **French Country, English Country, Provincial and traditional cottage** sensibility. The cobalt lattice border also gives the pieces enough graphic punch to mix beautifully with blue-and-white transferware, Delft-inspired ceramics and more formal traditional table settings.
