This one-of-a-kind organic form showcases extraordinary swirling burl grain, natural cavities, knots, fissures and sculptural contours that change dramatically when viewed from different angles.

The display side has been carefully shaped and polished to emphasize the richly figured grain and warm reddish-brown tones of the wood, while the reverse retains much of the rugged natural bark/root surface. The contrast between the refined face and untouched organic reverse gives the piece tremendous character.

A substantial decorative sculpture well suited to Organic Modern, Rustic Modern, Mid-Century inspired, lodge, cabin, wabi-sabi or naturalist interiors. Excellent displayed on a console, credenza, bookshelf, pedestal or large coffee table.

Condition
Very good vintage condition with natural voids, knots, fissures, checking, bark losses and irregularities inherent to the burl/root wood. The live-edge base also exhibits natural age checking and splits. These organic characteristics are visible in the photographs and contribute to the sculpture's character rather than detracting from its presentation.
