This oversized decorative brass wall charger features the Chinese Fu good-fortune character surrounded by detailed animal, bird, floral and geometric designs. The pictorial composition includes spotted deer, a peacock-like bird with decorative tail feathers and additional long-beaked and ornamental birds among flowering branches and foliage.

The brass has developed a dramatic dark copper-brown patina with muted bronze, reddish-brown and aged gold tones. Its naturally timeworn surface gives the piece strong visual character for Chinoiserie, grandmillennial, maximalist, global traditional and collected interiors.

CONDITION

Good structural vintage condition with no broken areas observed and the attached rear hanger intact.

The surface has a heavy naturally darkened patina with widespread tarnish, orange and copper-colored spotting, oxidation, scratches, scuffs, finish variation and small areas of green verdigris. Wear and oxidation are visible across the front, scalloped border and reverse.

The extensive spotting and uneven coloration are visible parts of the tray’s present condition, not merely reflections in the photographs. Please examine all close-up images carefully.

The tray has not been polished, allowing the next owner to retain its dark, timeworn character or have it conservatively cleaned according to personal preference.
