Such pitchers were once popular for serving beverages and were prized for their craftsmanship and decorative appeal.
American Brilliant Cut Glass (ABCG) refers to handcrafted glassware with deeply cut, highly polished patterns that create a sparkling, reflective effect. These pieces are typically thick, heavy, and very clear, often containing about 50% lead, which enhances their brilliance and resonance when tapped.
The pitchers were produced primarily between 1876 and World War I, during the so-called Brilliant Period, and were considered luxury items for affluent households.
