This is a French antique lithograph that features architectural details of l'Hotel de Toulouse, a project that dates to the … Read more This is a French antique lithograph that features architectural details of l'Hotel de Toulouse, a project that dates to the late 1600s. It is the work of Robert de Cotte, the architect administrator who was responsible for the designs of royal buildings in France during this period. He was responsible for mansions throughout France and used Rococo style designs in residential buildings. His work combined comfort with noble, simple and elegant facades as well impressive grandeur and presence. His designs were later published as collections. This one is attributed to an 1869 collection. It features the details of noble living quarters. The lithograph is marked Plate 51. It has the original plate marks which measure 9 x 14.75 and is in pristine condition. The outer border (which does show some age indications at the top and at the upper rght corner) measures 11.75 x 17 inches. This foxing can easily be eliminsted with matting/framing.
