Louis XV Fruitwood Bureau Plat. This writing desk features a dark green leather inset top with expansive rectangular writing surface and gold gilt tooled border. Pull out writing slides on either side allows even more surface area. The apron is fitted with multiple drawers, each adorned with gilt-bronze hardware and offering storage for writing implements, documents, and personal effects. The right drawer with locking "secret compartment". The desk is raised on four shaped cabriole legs terminating in delicately scrolled feet. The wood with a mellow warm aged patina.
