Whimsical offset lithograph by celebrated artist Saul Steinberg, depicting the numeral “5” as a surreal pantry-like structure. An anthropomorphic animal figure opens a small door at the top of the numeral, revealing two apples and three pears within. Set against a softly blended watercolor-style sky and grassy landscape, the work captures Steinberg’s distinctive fusion of architectural imagination, visual wit, and poetic absurdity.
