Original vintage Alexander Calder exhibition poster for “Stabiles,” presented by Galerie Maeght in Paris in 1963.
The poster features Calder’s distinctive graphic vocabulary of bold, biomorphic forms and was produced in connection with his exhibition at Galerie Maeght, the influential Paris gallery closely associated with Calder and many of the leading artists of the postwar period.
Galerie Maeght exhibition posters have become collectible works of graphic art in their own right, combining important 20th-century artists with the exceptional printing and design for which the gallery was known.
A strong example of mid-century modern graphic design and an excellent addition to a collection of Calder, Galerie Maeght, modernist, or postwar art.
