Hand-woven in wool, the piece features a large, stylized lynx (Swedish: Lodjur)an iconic animal of the Nordic forestsrendered in a sophisticated palette of ochre, charcoal, and warm earth tones. The piece is monogrammed "LS" in the lower-right corner, attributed to the designer/weaver (likely Lilly Sjöberg), a hallmark of high-quality Swedish studio textiles from this period. The weave is a complex hybrid: a flat-weave "Rölakan" base with selective "Half-Rya" knotted-pile techniques on the reverse to provide structural weight and highlight the central figure. Originally intended as either a significant accent rug or a wall tapestry, this piece captures the 1960s-1970s obsession with nature and geometric order. It remains in excellent vintage condition, featuring the original weaver's label on the reverse. See less
