Adelaide Mckenzie Moss (1942-2026) Pumpkin and Squash Still Life", pastel on paper, signed lower right and dated 2008.
Moss was born in New York and grew up in Connecticut. She earned a degree in art history from Hollins College in Virginia. In her life, she was a flight attendant, tennis instructor, computer programmer, kindergarten teacher, photographer and an artist. She was a guide for many years at Historic Deerfield in Massachusetts. She moved to Abingdon, VA where she lived for the last 20 years of her life which was spent painting, drawing and making ceramics. The William King Museum in Abingdon honored her pottery with a two artist show (with Cecelia Pippin) in 2011.
