It originally appeared in a French magazine of the time. It is NOT a recent reprocustion print. Dior fashion designs are highly desireable and collectible with today's vintage clothng fashionistas. They are increasing more difficult to find with the passage of time. This image is a RARE find. It is partically fun. It has a little bit of attitude. The model glances over her shoulder and tilts her shades at her viewer. She dones a high collared ensemble with a flare style bolerero jacket worn with a short narrow skirt, The violet and white stripes are dramatic and dynamic. This design is indeed a showstopper! The iillustration is the work of Rene Gruau, one of the leading fashion illustrators of the time. Gruau is known for his line drawing, his use of bold color and his strong graphic styling. The creative friendship between Christian Dior and Rene Gruau was a collaboration which celebrated a special spirit which continued for many years, even after Dior’s death in 1957. This image captures the essence and the spirit of these geniuses. The image is perfect for today's fashionista or vintage clothing collector. It is in pristine condition.
