"Attention" Heavily Textured Abstract Expressionist Composition in Oil on Canvas
Bold, textured, impasto composition of a nude female by California artist Harald "Harry" Dry Schmidt (American, 1933-1979). Bright, bold colors are divided into sections by swirls of black and off-white. The colors are laid out in thick patches, likely with a palette knife. Harald was an eclectic San Francisco Abstract and Outsider artist from 1960-1990. Large areas of color blocking are accentuated by heavy texture. Detailed areas of the painting feature large ridges and the evidence of wet-on-wet painting techniques.
Signed "Dryschmidt" on right side of compostion.
