Painted in oil on academy board with a soft, muted palette and naïve yet appealing composition, the work captures the romantic spirit of turn-of-the-century landscape painting. The painting remains unsigned but retains its original artist’s board and is housed in an ornate period gilt composition frame that complements the artwork beautifully. The reverse still bears a partial New York art supply label, supporting an early 20th-century date. A wonderful decorative piece for traditional, cottage, rustic, or collected folk art interiors.
