A striking Mid-Century Modern West German ceramic vase featuring a richly textured volcanic "Fat Lava" glaze in warm shades of bronze, caramel brown, and deep charcoal. The cylindrical form is accented by a ribbed collar at the neck, while the dramatic reactive glaze creates a rugged, landscape-like surface that is both tactile and visually captivating.
Marked "West Germany" and numbered 553-38 on the underside, this vase is representative of the highly collectible West German art pottery produced during the 1960s and 1970s. Its earthy palette and sculptural presence make it an excellent statement piece for Mid-Century Modern, Brutalist, Scandinavian, or contemporary interiors.
Whether displayed on its own or grouped with other German studio ceramics, this vase offers exceptional texture, depth, and timeless design.
