Swedish mora grandfather clocks are identified by their gentle curves and classic style as seen in this exceptional longcase clock that stands just over 7' tall.
Restored, later professionally painted in layered shades of antique white with gray undertones and lightly distressed to fit the age and grace of this lovely grandfather clock. Faint residual signs of older turquoise/gold/red layers of previous paint underneath.
The original clock required the commissioning of 3 professionals; the carpenter, painter and clock professional who designed the clockworks, face and hands.
Any original clock works and pendulum remaining will be included with the long case, but they are not in working condition. Many clients opt to add a battery function vs restoring the old works; we leave this to the discretion of buyer upon arrival.
All scratches, cracks, dings, and age-related separations at joints and seams are reflective of age and do not detract from the beauty of this lovely Mora grandfather clock. Because the original clock functions were so sensitive, Mora clocks were typically secured/nailed to a wall which often left holes or an opening along the backs.
