Charming early 1900s Russian/Ukraine kiot — hinged wooden icon case with glass door, stepped inner frame and gilt wood insert. Designed to protect hand-painted tempera icons from smoke, humidity and dust; includes hanging loop and side latch.
Good vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear: green paint trace on left side, bottom scuffs, and localized loss of gold leaf at frame corners and bottom. Contains several antique paper fragments bearing Cyrillic script.
