These plates are handcrafted from natural soapstone in the Tabaka region of Kenya. Each plate undergoes a detailed process, starting with carving, painting, and finishing with etching and grooving. The plates serve as decorative ornaments or can be used for floral arrangements. Due to the handcrafted nature, each plate is a unique work of art, showcasing variations in color and design. The soapstone used varies in color from white to shades of pink, red, and gray. The artists sketch designs, paint colors, and then etch intricate details, resulting in imaginative and unique pieces. The finished plates are ideal for African or animal-themed décor, adding a delightful touch to homes and offices.
