Pure jazz-age glamour: a set of six Czech Art Deco "Tango" glasses from the 1920s, each with a tomato-red tulip bowl perched on a glossy black stem and foot. That electric red-on-black pairing is the whole point of Tango glass — a style named for the dance craze then sweeping Europe, designed to blaze against the quiet interiors of the day. The color is completely saturated and opaque, the silhouette long-legged and elegant, and the set is attributed to one of the great Bohemian glasshouses, Loetz or Harrach.
At just over seven inches tall with dainty bowls, these are cordial and liqueur glasses — which today makes them perfect for amari, port, limoncello, or a very chic espresso-martini-adjacent pour. Line all six up on a bar cart and they read like a corps de ballet.
Style them on a black lacquer tray with a cocktail shaker, mix them into a maximalist bar wall, or set them against white marble where the red does all the talking. They belong anywhere Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, or modern glam lives — and they make a knockout engagement or housewarming gift.
