A magnificent Italian giltwood altar candlestick from the 19th century, recently electrified as a table lamp to bring that splendor of the baroque to a modern interior. The new, conical linen shade diffuses the light of a medium-base lightbulb, with a switch on the socket where the “French wire” gold braided cord comes out to position the lamp nearly anywhere. The ornate column of the lamp is meticulously carved in segments of rings and acanthus leaves before joining the tripod base of large floral motifs merging the block feet that elevate the lamp from the table surface. Professionally cleaned and rewired for US electrical using UL-listed components. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
