Sainte-Radegonde ceramics were made in the Touraine region of France from 1887 to the mid 20th century. Founded by Gustave Asch, the factory became famous for a blue enamel called “the blue of Tours”.

Glazed in a dark blue enamel with heavy gold accents on scalloped rims with a running acanthus leaf border. An inner border of stylized fleur di lys.

The plates show the ornate crests for the City of Tours, The country of France, Diane de Poitiers, Henry II, and Marie de Medicis. With a monogram at the top, the crest is named on the back of each plate.

Beautifully hand enameled. Each plate is pierced on the rear rim for hanging.

9 inches in diameter x 1.25 in. high.
In incredible antique condition, showing the expected light surface wear from age and use. See less
