The vase has a heavy, squat, globe-like silhouette with a flat base and a slightly recessed rim. The primary glass body is a warm, translucent honey-amber tone.
It is wrapped in a highly detailed, continuous matrix of raised ruby-red glass trails. This gives the piece an organic, web-like texture resembling veining or nests, which beautifully catches and refracts passing light.
On the bottom, a smooth, circular ground pontil mark can be seen right in the center, which confirms that it was individually crafted by a glassblower using a blowpipe rather than mass-produced in a machine mold.
Vases with this precise color configuration, squat shape and raised red threading are highly collectible mid-to-late 20th-century decorative pieces. They are typically attributed Murano, Italy where artisans were famous for mastering threaded web designs during the 1960s and 1970s.
