Dating to the … Read more This is an iconic set of three McGuire plant stands crafted from the company's signature leather-wrapped bamboo. Dating to the 1970s, these sculptural stands showcase the exceptional craftsmanship and organic modern aesthetic that made McGuire one of the most influential names in American furniture design. We have included an original picture from the McGuire Furniture Portfolio from the 70's. These were not signed, as is common among the "only bamboo" McGuire designs. This collection comes from a prominent Houston family who owned a well-known Houston art gallery and were avid art collectors and conservators. Each McGuire piece in their collection was hand selected for their private residence and purchased through McGuire's trade program. This piece, along with many others in the collection, was acquired directly from McGuire through the family's gallery. Each piece has been beautifully preserved and is being offered here on "SL Grange". Please see the final image showing the collection as photographed. Each stand features hand-selected bamboo joined with McGuire's distinctive rawhide leather wrappings, creating a structure that is both visually lightweight and remarkably strong. This is a very rare set and in great vintage condition.
