Offered is a 1983 1st Edition (2nd Printing) of Henri Matisse's portfolio, "Jazz". This was an authorized large format reproduction published by George Braziller as a companion to an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) with text translated from the French by Sophie Hawkes, and an introduction by Riva Castelman, art historian and curator of prints and illustrated books at the MoMA New York.
This is a facsimile of the original 1947 portfolio, including 20 color lithographs (15 double-page and 5 single-page), and handwritten text. The original 1947 edition was limited to 250 numbered copies.
