Across the frieze, over the weathered pale green painted wood frame, are a series of symbolic appliqués in gilded finish: lyre forms on the outer edges flank a linear acanthus-anthemion design that emanates from a central medallion. Pilasters to the left and right of the mirror plate, like a tabernacle mirror, are emphasized by gilded fluting and rosettes at the capital. The original mirror plate offers a mostly clear reflection, having developed a haze of spotty foxing concentrated to the right side and bottom edge. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.
