Infuse your home with a touch of whimsical sophistication with this charming pair of vintage Italian glazed ceramic table lamps. Inspired by the playful "Singerie" tradition of the 18th century, these lamps feature meticulously sculpted monkeys dressed in festive period costumes—one masterfully playing the cello while the other keeps time on a drum. The lustrous off-white glaze is beautifully accented with hand-painted brown trim, highlighting the intricate textures of their ruffled collars, puffed sleeves, and expressive features. Mounted on tiered bases with rich wood-toned plinths, these pieces epitomize the witty elegance of Chinoiserie and Hollywood Regency design.
These striking lamps are ideal for adding a conversation-starting element to a library, living room, or bedside table. Each lamp measures 8.25” wide, 6.25” deep, and 20.5” tall to the top of the socket. They remain in great vintage condition, displaying a fine glazed finish with minor surface wear and subtle crazing that provides a wonderful sense of age and authentic character. This rare and delightful pair offers a unique opportunity to elevate your lighting collection with a blend of classical art and spirited personality.
