A grand pair of late 19th century French cast iron “Medici urns” which display Neoclassical taste in their profile that have a fresh appearance wearing a spruce green paint over the metal. A rim of egg & dart motif flares out over the wall of the flute, tapering into a gadrooned midsection. The slender foot is mounted on a thick, cast stone base for stability in a garden, patio, or interior. Their surfaces retain much of the green paint which has softened by age and exposure, patinated to areas of rusty oxidation and scattered wear. In the spirit of timeless French and English gardens, the urns bring historic charm and presence to any setting. Sold as a pair. Please view the detailed images as they are an essential part of the product description.
