This one is of a particularly large size and has a vibrant green glaze and is in very good as found condition with the minor glaze loss typical of pottery from Provence. It also retains its original lid, typically these lids are missing having been broken and discarded over the years. Traditionally, this type of pottery is found only in two colors, green and ochre. Green glaze cost the potter many times the cost of Ochre hence, green pieces are much more scarce and more desierable. It was found near Beziers. See less
