A striking pair of Italian Neoclassical-style gilt metal table lamps formed as three intertwined serpents, rising in a dynamic helical composition from substantial black marble bases. Each serpent is finely modeled with articulated scales and expressive heads, which extend outward and culminate at the top as sculptural finials—an elegant and cohesive design detail that completes the composition.
The serpents twist upward around a central support, terminating in a tripod-like formation at the base, lending both visual balance and structural presence. The circular black marble plinths, richly veined in white, provide a strong architectural foundation and contrast beautifully with the warm gilt finish.
Rooted in classical symbolism, the serpent motif evokes themes of protection, renewal, and eternity, long associated with Greco-Roman decorative arts. This pair reinterprets those ancient forms through a bold late 20th-century lens, blending Neoclassical influence with a strong design sensibility.
